Dr Nawal AL Kaabi, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr Nawal Al Kaabi is the Chief Medical Officer in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City since March 2017, the Chair of the SEHA infection Control Committee since September 2012, and the Chair of the Clinical National Covid-19 Committee since February 2020. Dr. Al Kaabi is a member of the International Patient Care Committee, DOH, since 2007, and Chair of the Committee since 2017. From 2012 to 2016, she was the Chairperson of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group, MOH, UAE, and its vice-chairperson since 2017.
Dr Al Kaabi is the Principal Investigator of the randomized, double-blind, parallel placebo-controlled, phase III clinical trial to evaluate the safety and protective efficacy of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in the healthy population aged 18 years old and above. She graduated with an MBBS from the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, UAE. She was certified as a Fellow in Pediatrics at the Royal College of Physicians in Canada in 2002 and Pediatric Infectious Disease in 2004.
She has completed an Infection Control Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, University of Ottawa, Canada. She is American Board Certified in Pediatrics (2001), certified in global research by Harvard University (2015), and certified by the American Board in Quality (2017). She also has a Certified Physician certificate from the American Association for Physician Leadership, USA (July 2019). Dr. Al Kaabi has published numerous papers and has made presentations at several conferences.
